Soapbox Science Coordinator
Isla is part of the Science Resources and Meetings team and the Coordinator for Soapbox Science, an award winning science outreach project for women in science. Since its inception in 2011, Soapbox Science has showcased the work of hundreds of researchers in busy public spaces around the world, smashing stereotypes about who a scientist is and what they do. Isla’s role involves the coordination and training of all local event organising teams, managing the speaker call and digital communications. She is also the lead organiser of the Soapbox Science London event, held annual in May on the Southbank. Isla trained in Performance Design and worked for 5 years in theatre production and international arts events, meetings and networks before joining ZSL.
