Billy is part of ZSL’s Library & Archives team, where he supports digitisation projects and research enquiries.
He is passionate about making the collections more accessible by cataloguing and organising historic materials from ZSL’s 200-year history, such as staff record cards, artworks, zoo maps, and photographs. Whether helping researchers from across the world uncover stories from our past or assisting with public tours and outreach, Billy enjoys connecting people with the rich history of ZSL– which is especially important in the year of our bicentenary.
A lifelong enthusiast of zoo history, Billy is particularly interested in how archives can help build connections between past and present. He is currently studying for an MA in Archives and Records Management, further developing his knowledge and skills to help preserve and share ZSL’s heritage for future generations.
