Salary £28,408 p.a. (inclusive of benefits) pro rata for part-time

The Zoological Society of London is recruiting for an Arts and Culture Coordinator. The position is based with the Discovery and learning department at the ZSL London Zoo site, but the postholder will also be expected to complete some project work at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
ZSL is an international conservation, scientific and education charity. The postholder will play a key role in delivering ZSL’s Arts and Culture section of the Discovery and Learning Strategy, and in doing so achieve the Society’s vision to “A world where animals are valued, and their conservation assured” and mission “To promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats”. The three main areas of work are: Create an infrastructure for Arts & Culture at ZSL, Celebrate ZSL’s cultural heritage and plan and deliver a coordinated Arts programme throughout ZSL
The Arts and Culture Coordinator will achieve this through the development and delivery of a range of innovative Arts and Culture programmes and events for a variety of audiences. These can take place at ZSL London Zoo, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo or other off site locations. http://www.zsl.org/zsl-london-zoo/zsl-arts-culture
There could be additional project work which will link into all aspects of the D&L strategy including assisting schools and educational programmes, interpretation and engagement, evaluation and visitor studies, and contributing to ZSL’s conservation and science projects where relevant.
Although reporting directly to the Head of Discovery and Learning, the postholder will work closely with other ZSL departments such as Development department on funding proposals, ZSL Conservation Programmes and the Institute of Zoology on inputting into their public engagement and campaigns work.
