Exclusive upcoming events 

Exclusive early openings at our Conservation Zoos 

Select dates throughout the year

Swing by on four selected Sundays a week before school holidays for an hour's long sneak peek of what happens at the Zoo before general opening. See the animals slowly waking up and going about their own morning routine, whilst our team of zookeepers, staff and volunteers get the Zoo ready to welcome visitors. Plus, we’ll be bringing you right up-close to a different species for each of the early opening dates with additional activities and talks!

VIP Zoo Nights 

Friday 13 June 2025, 6 - 7pm at London Zoo  

Join a special reception from 6pm where you can speak directly to our world-leading conservationists, scientists and zoo keepers before heading out to explore London Zoo and see our conservation in action. It’s the best time of the day to see some of our animals, as many of them become more active in the evening. Please note that Zoo Nights is for adults only.

Whether it’s deepening your understanding of wildlife through our science events or exploring a specific project – there is an event for you. Plus they are all free to attend!

Past Events

Back from the Brink: An Evening on Species Recovery 

Wednesday 5 March, 6 - 8:30pm, London Zoo

Join us for this special evening reception with drinks and canapes. This event is an opportunity for you to hear about ZSL’s vital work to bring species back from the brink of extinction. Our expert speakers will give you an insight into our Extinct in the Wild programme, and how we’re working to get the most threatened species on the planet on the road to recovery. You’ll meet the incredible people delivering our conservation work and hear how your support is making a difference. 

Patron Exclusive 'Sunrise Safari' event 

Saturday 7 September 2024 at Whipsnade Zoo from 8:30am

This special morning is perfect for all the family as you are escorted on a 'Sunrise Safari' through Asia. During the safari, you will hear from ZSL experts as they bring you closer to what makes Whipsnade Zoo a ZSL conservation zoo. Together we will celebrate another successful summer at Whipsnade Zoo and have the chance to see our newest arrival Miron, the Amur tiger, in action - all before the Zoo opens to visitors.

VIP Zoo Nights

Friday 28 June 2024 from 6pm at London Zoo 

Join a special reception from 6pm before exploring the Zoo Nights experience where you can try the array of international street food and hear some fantastic talks. It’s the best time of the day to see some of our animals, as many of them become more active in the evening. Why not take a guided tour, catch one of the fun animal talks and explore The Origin of the Faeces exhibition. Please note that Zoo Nights is for adults only.
