Shape the next chapter for nature
As ZSL turns 200, join us for a youth event like no other. At The Nature Assembly, you’ll join young people aged 16–25 from across the UK to explore what a positive future for nature could look like, and help influence how organisations like ZSL act on it.
This one day, youth-led event is designed to be welcoming, impactful and hands on. You’ll connect with others, build confidence, get creative, and work directly with senior leaders to co create practical recommendations for improving access to nature.
What you’ll experience
A day built around connection, creativity and collaboration giving you space to learn, express your views and influence change.
Opening & keynote
You’ll start the day with a warm welcome, followed by an inspiring keynote from a creative speaker exploring belonging in nature.
Hands on nature workshops
Choose a practical session that sparks your interest. These workshops are designed to help you feel more connected to nature, whatever your starting point.
Guided zoo tours
Join rotating tours that highlight the amazing wildlife at London Zoo and discover how young people are already shaping conservation at ZSL and how you can too.
Youth Citizens’ Assembly
You’ll work in small groups to explore barriers to accessing nature and develop recommendations for change. Senior leaders will join your table to listen, respond and collaborate with you.
Leadership plenary
Meaningful engagement matters – you’ll hear live responses and pledges from ZSL’s senior leadership and invited decision makers. Commitments will be captured in real time and included in the event’s creative output.
Social wind down
End the day with relaxed networking and snacks!

- Your contributions will feed into a Youth Recommendation Document guiding ZSL’s future work

Tickets
We want everyone to be able to join us so you can choose the ticket tier that works best for you:
- £5 Standard ticket
- £20 Supporter ticket – helps subsidise access for others
- Free ticket – for anyone who needs it, email youthboard@zsl.org to claim

Every attendee will receive a free return ticket to London Zoo so you can come back for a visit within the month!

The future should be shaped by all of us. If you’re aged 16-25, W=whatever your connection to nature, we want to hear your voice.
Please note: This event is primarily for 16–25 year olds - anyone under 16 will unfortunately not be able attend

We're ZSL's Youth Advisory Board - a group of 12 volunteers aged 16-25, working to bring youth voice central to ZSL's decision making. We can't wait to meet you!
