Since 2009, ZSL has received generous support from the Good Gifts Catalogue, an initiative of the Charities Advisory Trust (CAT).
The Good Gifts Catalogue was started 15 years ago, as a platform to purchase refreshing alternatives to conventional presents. Visitors to the website can browse and ‘purchase’ virtual gives for their friends and family – these donations go straight to the associated charity to be spent on the actual gift selected.
Through funding from the Good Gifts Catalogue, the CAT has supported a variety of different projects at ZSL over the years. Our partnership with Good Gifts has been particularly valuable in helping to kick-start innovative new projects, such as providing start-up funds for our penguin monitoring programme which uses Instant Detect, ZSL’s wildlife monitoring system.
Most recently, the Good Gifts Catalogue has chosen to feature ZSL’s project Net-Works, a collaboration with a global carpet manufacturer, Interface. Net-Works provides financial opportunities for poorer communities in the Philippines and Cameroon through turning discarded fishing nets into carpet tiles, which at the same time protects marine life by reducing plastic pollution. You can support this project by buying the ‘Fish out the plastic’ gift here.
We are extremely grateful for the Charity Advisory Trust’s ongoing support over the years.
