Shauna Young

Shauna started working for ZSL in January 2021 to manage the #OneLess campaign in London. With a background in waste management, Shauna transitioned into marine conservation with a keen interest in reducing the impacts of plastic pollution on people and planet. Shauna now leads ZSL's marine plastics work in the UKOTs, monitoring the impacts of plastic pollution on key species and co-creating inclusive solutions with local communities to reduce plastic waste. In parallel to her focus on marine plastics, Shauna is working with partners in the UK to deliver Insight360 - a collaborative R&D initiative to co-design an EM system with fishers to monitor and mitigate cetacean bycatch in UK fisheries.
