Chai is a Program Lead, based in The Philippines, working on our - Saving Mr Mom: The Philippine Seahorse Program. She leads our support of the Philippine government in implementing the 2016 National Plan of Action for Seahorses to improve the conservation status of these species
The Philippine Seahorse Program will help grow understanding of seahorses, strengthen marine protected areas, enhance enforcement of fisheries regulations against illegal gears, and move trade towards sustainability according to CITES regulations, including by developing seahorse-specific management measures. The program is advancing seahorse conservation in the Philippines by making a difference to their status, habitats, fisheries and trade.
Her work focusses on marine conservation, and she is a Philippine National Seahorse Expert working with Project Seahorse, as well as being a member of the IUCN SSC Seahorse, Pipefish and Seadragon Specialist Group.
