Our year in review

ZSL Annual Report 2024-25

Read about the highlights from last year and the progress we’ve made against our strategy.

It has been an exciting 12 months. This year saw the launch of ZSL’s redefined strategy – a series of ambitious goals that we have set out to achieve by 2030. This Annual Report outlines the progress we have already made towards those goals, under our four impact areas: Protecting Species, Restoring Habitats, Training Conservationists and Creating Change.

In this Report you will also read about some of our major conservation successes from the last 12 months, including the rescue of the Darwin's frog, in the face of extinction, and the introduction of the Extinct in the Wild sihek to Palmyra Atoll.

This success is underpinned by our two world-class conservation Zoos, where we safeguard over 177 threatened species and subspecies, and inspire future generations of conservationists. This year we welcomed 2.2 million visitors – one of our best ever years for visitor numbers – including over 120,000 students on educational visits.
