You can make a real difference this holiday season by donating towards the expert care of some of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals, including 16 species which are Extinct in the Wild.
ZSL safeguards 170 threatened species and subspecies and more than half of the world’s Extinct in the Wild species in our two Conservation Zoos, London and Whipsnade, and in the field. The long-term fate of these animals is in our hands but with your help, Extinct in the Wild does not mean they will be gone forever. There is hope.
Your donation, big or small, can ensure that for those animals on the very brink of extinction that this isn't their last Christmas.
Examples of how your gift could make a difference:
Your £100 donation could provide festive meals for our family of seven Critically Endangered Western lowland gorillas at London Zoo on Christmas day, including the two valuable newest arrivals Juno and Venus.
The Secret Life of Reptiles and Amphibians is home to the Critically Endangered mountain chicken frogs, where there are just 21 individuals left in their homeland of Domenica. Your £500 donation could help fund their specialised life support systems to help give them hope for the future.
The Socorro dove is an Extinct in the Wild bird species at London Zoo, where we are successfully breeding the animals in the hope that one day they can be re-introduced to the island of Socorro near Mexico. By donating £1,000, you can support their expert care in our tropical bird house and help bring them back from the brink.
