Zoo's Pride

Lioness, Arya, stands next to a giant rainbow-coloured Pride heart

London’s lion pride investigates a new rainbow heart in their paddock at ZSL London Zoo today - created to mark this weekend’s London Pride Parade (Saturday 2 July).
Members of international conservation charity ZSL’s ‘Team Pride’ are preparing to join this weekend’s annual parade in the Capital, to celebrate the LGBT+ community on behalf of London’s zoo.
The giant rainbow, handmade by zookeepers, was scented with Asiatic lions Bhanu and Arya’s favourite spices, ginger and cardamom – a treat to stimulate the big cats’ impressive sense of smell.

Grown-ups can visit London’s lion pride at ZSL London Zoo as the sun goes down on select dates throughout the next month – exclusive Twilight tickets for evening entry to the Zoo are on sale now at www.zsl.org/Twilight.
