Visiting the Zoo this Halloween? Look out for our ‘vampire’ deer!
Back in July we told you about seven tiny fawns that were being hand reared by keepers. We're so pleased to say that they're doing really well, and you can now see them over by our hippos.
Chinese water deer got their alternative name because young males grow sharp canine teeth, or 'fangs', instead of antlers. But there's nothing scary about these cuties - thanks so much to keeper Gracie for the photos!
Blow the cobwebs away this half term and explore our 600-acre site. Don't forget, you can bring your car into the Zoo* - you'll find our adult Chinese water deer in the Passage through Asia drive-through exhibit.
Keep the kids spellbound this October half term by taking one of our fun family wizard trails! Half term activities run until Sunday 1 November 2020 - find out more here.
*Car entry is available for an additional charge of £25 (£12.50 for Gold members) per car, and is payable on the day.
