Film buffs and animal lovers alike can look forward to a wild night at the flicks this August as the extremely popular outdoor Silent Cinema returns at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
Following on from the success of the special event last year, the silver screen returns to the UK’s largest Zoo this year with an exciting line-up of timeless blockbusters for the whole family to enjoy.
Guests will be able to take on nature’s assault course at the Zoo’s interactive summer experience, Bear Grylls Wild Survival Academy, and become real wildlife explorers before settling down to watch Robin Williams’ adventure classic, Jumanji, on Friday 25 August.
The entertainment gets animated on Saturday 26 August, as Disney’s Academy Award-winning musical hit, The Lion King, will enchant young and old once again. Families can join loveable lion cub Simba on his adventures through Pride Rock as they sit back and relax in the middle of the Zoo at twilight, surrounded by more than 3,500 animals.
Before the screenings begin each night, the movie-lovers will be treated to a magical ‘Birds of the World’ display on both nights, as well as having a chance to explore the Bear Grylls Wild Survival Academy.
To ensure the Zoo’s animals are not kept up past their bedtimes, movie-goers will wear headphones for the screening, and a range of tasty food and drink will be available, including pizza, BBQ food, popcorn and sweet treats.
Silent Cinema at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo promises a movie-night like no other and with only 600 places available per night.
