Wild Lights at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Whether it’s for a date-with-a-difference, or a fun family treat, those looking for a really special way to experience some winter magic should head to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s brand new event, Wild Lights.

For two weekends in December, visitors will be allowed access to the hilltop Zoo after normal opening hours, where they can wrap up warm and dive into the darkness to discover the wonder of the Zoo’s dazzling, winter light trail.

Giant animal lanterns, towering flowers and twinkling fairy lights will illuminate a path around the Zoo grounds that will guide guests through a magical journey of winter delights.

Guests will head along the shimmering glitter ball path, past the glowing fire garden towards the enchanting tree lit avenue, looking out along the way for shining stilt-walkers and colourful characters.

Visitors can re-fuel at the trail rest-stop, where delicious, warming food, mulled wine and other seasonal hot drinks will be available to give guests a cosy glow. 

A range of animal-themed gifts will also be on hand for those who want to find a stocking-filler or two, and selfie-lovers can fully immerse themselves in the celebration of colour and light by showing off their own glittery face-paint design.

For winter nights and glowing delights, don’t miss Wild Lights at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 December 2017, and Friday 8 and Saturday 9 December 2017.
