In Colour and Camouflage, students will take part in activities and investigate real objects from the natural world to practice their descriptive skills and find out more about how colours and patterns can help animals survive in their habitat. They will match different colours and patterns to a range of animal skins and feathers, and identify what habitat they live in. Using specific examples, the pupils will then discuss how camouflage can help animals to catch their prey or avoid being eaten, and how some animals have bright colours to stand out as a warning, or to find their friends. The children will then be able to apply their learning to real-life examples.
