Relaxed opening tours are for a small number of people to visit parts of the zoo while it is quiet and calm enough to be a comfortable experience for autistic and neurodivergent children and adults, as well as other people who can benefit from this relaxed environment.
Relaxed Opening tours take place before the zoo opens to the public or after the zoo has closed. Partcipants are welcome to enjoy the zoo on the day of their tour during our opening hours. Relaxed Opening Tours are included in the price of the general admissions tickets, which can be booked on our website. A disability concession ticket entitles the holder to a free companion or carer place with each ticket.
Please note, these sessions are guided by the Community Engagement team. A set route will be followed, which is agreed in advance with our animal teams and our operation staff, to ensure the best possible experience. We cannot allow free roaming around the zoo outside of our normal opening hours for the safety and wellbeing of visitors and animals.
