Parasaurolophus

Parasaurolophus

At around 10 metres long, the parasaurolophus was a large crested, duck-billed dinosaur that roamed the earth during the late Cretaceous period 76-74 million years ago. Parasaurolophus's nostrils ran all the way through the long crest on its head and it may have been used to make loud, deep noises. A bit like an elephant pushing air through its trunk to make low frequency sounds 10 metres long.

This famous herbivore went on to become a movie star, appearing in all the Jurassic Park films and the Land Before Time series.
