On Wednesday 26th March, ZSL London Zoo opened its doors to 350 event bookers for a Summer Showcase. It was the Zoo’s second large-scale private viewing since the opening of the brand new Terrace Restaurant and newly refurbished Prince Albert Suite.
These stunning spaces are both housed in the historic Regent’s Building in the heart of the Zoo. The Terrace Restaurant, which features a double height 40ft ceiling and a special mezzanine level, is a fantastic space that can hold up to 400 guests and the Prince Albert Suite is the perfect setting for a summer party with its spectacular newly built roof terrace overlooking Penguin Beach and Regent’s Park.
The Terrace Restaurant and Prince Albert Suite were an ideal hub for the Summer Showcase, providing a great setting for networking, and the Events & Hospitality team were on-hand to show exactly how creative and polished they are. Other spaces explored by guests on the evening included the ever-popular Penguin Beach and vast outdoor space Barclay Court.
Starting at 6pm, the three and a half hour special event showcased ZSL London Zoo’s versatile and inspiring function spaces, and the in-house team’s fantastic attention to detail.
Event bookers were welcomed with Pimms jelly and mandarin scented Prosecco drinks while watching a bespoke Penguin Beach Live! display. They sampled the new deep-south BBQ menu with bourbon pork belly and miniature classic burgers which were provided by the award winning onsite caterers, Ampersand.
The ZSL London Zoo Events & Hospitality team was on hand to give tours of the event spaces and explain the packages available for both corporate and private events to guests throughout the evening. Many visitors even joined in the host’s theme and added a touch of animal with their outfits and face paint.
ZSL London Zoo Events and Hospitality also showcased their fantastic array of suppliers & teambuilding packages. From Liquid Chefs, Ice Box London, TSC Events, Lick Me I’m Delicious ice cream & instant lollipops, to Fishee Designs photo booth, singer Emel Michael and Funny Faces face paint, all were a hit with the guests!
Of course, the stars of the show were the Zoo’s friendly animal residents, including an energetic armadillo, who came along to give guests a taste of the Animal Encounters ZSL London Zoo can offer to make an event held there even more special.
