African Bird Safari

African bird safari

Discover an array of winged wildlife from the world's second largest continent with our African Bird Safari. Opened in 2004, the African Bird Safari replaced some of the old Stork and Ostrich House, part of which is still used today to house species from the exhibit. The area was redesigned to create a larger space for the birds and to increase the visitor experience, with an immersive exhibit taking you into the bird's environment.

The African Bird Safari is home to a number of different species, including the Waldrapp ibis, Abdim stork, Fischer's turaco, Von der Decken hornbill, hammerkop, white-faced tree duck, and the blue-bellied roller.
