Step into the boots of a zookeeper and experience exactly what it's like to look after our biggest animals at the Zoo day to day!

What to Expect

On arrival, you will be greeted by our team who will take you across to our grade listed Giraffe House and introduce you to our resident giraffes and let you experience exactly what it's like to be a giraffe keeper.

Brooms and rakes in hand, you will get mucked in, helping to clean out one of their dens. Prepare some of their food for the day, and if you're lucky, the giraffes may come over for a feed! Be prepared to be awed by their size.

Please note, that whilst we will create an opportunity for a hand feed, it is entirely the giraffes' choice as to whether or not they want to feed from participants and therefore cannot be guaranteed. This is entirely for the welfare and comfort of the animals.

To protect our animals, staff and visitors, please do not visit the Zoo if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, and contact us to rearrange your experience.
