Guinea pigs were domesticated from the related species cavies, they are very social, and like to live in herds. They communicate with each other through cute squeaks, purrs and chirps, and this helps them form their social structures. Guinea pigs like to huddle for warmth and protection, and can't be kept alone. Guinea pigs aren't great climbers, so our village provides the perfect home for them to graze and socialise.
