Zookeepers inside the closed gates of ZSL London Zoo downed their feed buckets and brooms, to sing happy birthday to HRH Prince Louis of Cambridge - the two-year-old great-grandson of HM The Queen, ZSL's Royal Patron.
While majestic giraffes and white-naped mangabeys enjoyed breakfast, our keepers - who remain on site during the nationwide lockdown caring for our animals - delivered a wild performance of the young prince's favourite song, to celebrate his special day (Thursday 23 April).
ZSL London Zoo Chief Operating Officer Kathryn England said: “Along with the rest of the country we recently discovered that Happy Birthday is one of the prince's favourite songs - so our zookeepers decided to celebrate his second birthday by singing it to him in front of a truly unique audience."
We're calling on the public for support to help care for our 18,000 animals - from majestic lions to tiny frogs - while we're closed to visitors. Find out more and help us weather the storm.
