I have been involved in the world of video production for more than six years and it is where my real passion lies. My interest in video production started at the University of Exeter where I became a member of the student TV station XTV. After spending considerably more time making programmes for the station than doing my actual degree I became Station Manager in my final year. Through the station I was able to try my hand at all aspects of production and really started to enjoy the whole process.
After graduation I moved to London and joined a PR agency to help them establish their video production arm. I spent a couple of years working there before the opportunity to join the Zoological Society of London as their videographer came up which was an ideal job for me. I have always been really interested in the natural world and I was already aware of the work that ZSL did, not only in their two world class Zoos but also their conservation work protecting species around the world, so the opportunity to play a role in such a respected organisation was fantastic.
At ZSL I manage the YouTube channel, producing videos for social media about the animals at our Zoos, as well as publising the conservation work we are doing around the world and the scientific work of the Institute of Zoology. I get to work closely with the zoo keepers to get the best access to our amazing animals here at ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, showing people how we care for our animals, providing fun facts and exclusive behind the scenes access. I have also had the opportunty to travel to some of our conservation and science projects to film the work that is takng place out in the field.
