MEAdmix (Molecular Estimator of Admixture) is a Fortran program written by Jinliang Wang to estimate the admixture proportions and genetic drift using DNA sequence data, based on a coalescent estimator described in:

Wang , J. 2006. A coalescent-based estimator of admixture from DNA sequences.Genetics 173:1679-1692.

An admixture model similar to that assumed in LEADMIX program is adopted. However, MEAdmix uses genealogical information in DNA sequence data and is expected to give better estimates of admixture parameters (parental contributions to admixture, divergence time, admixture time, and population sizes) for ancient admixtures where mutations play an important role.
