This year, Channel 4 went behind-the-scenes to reveal how ZSL’s two iconic zoos prepared to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.

Festive feelgood joy for the whole family, the one-hour primetime special follows the ZSL team as they transform London Zoo into a festive wonderland, while revealing what daily life is like caring for more than 25,000 animals at London and Whipsnade.  

How will our Sumatran tiger cubs and Asian elephant Nang Phaya celebrate their first Christmases? Will Santa’s Grotto be ready for his arrival? Which penguins will make it off Santa’s naughty list?  

From exciting animal arrivals and winter births to the mammoth effort it takes to make the holiday magic happen, don’t miss 'London Zoo at Christmas'. 

The perfect place to celebrate Christmas with the family, ZSL London and Whipsnade Zoos are open throughout Christmas and New Year, closing only on Christmas Day. Walk off the festive food around the Zoo, then cosy up to catch up on 'London Zoo at Christmas'.
