As Science Communications and Events Manager, it is my role to create opportunities which enable our science and conservation professionals to share insights that benefit wildlife, people and the environment.

I facilitate connections with audiences through a variety of platforms, by organising an annual programme of free, public Science and Conservation Events and academic symposia, managing ZSL’s Science social media channels, hosting and producing the ZSL Wild Science podcast, and curating the ZSL Science and Conservation YouTube channel alongside other creative forms of science communication.

As a result of these activities, we want to empower audiences to use our work through calls to action, cause behaviour change, and provide pathways to impact through policy engagement and collaborations.

We aim to promote equality and diversity in science through inclusive, accessible and equitable programming, and inspire future generations of scientists and conservationists.

Ultimately, we want to develop a diverse programme of events and resources based on audience-needs, to improve societal understanding of science and conservation as solutions to global challenges, create long-term impact, and emphasise the importance of effective communication and engagement in science.

Check out any Science and Conservation events in our upcoming programme, Listen to our Wild Science podcast or subscribe on your favourite podcast app; Watch all previous online Science and Conservation Events alongside other video content on our YouTube channel. Or follow us on Twitter @ZSLScience and Facebook @ZSLScienceAndConservation for updates on events, podcasts and new publications.
