The Zoological Society of London (ZSL), a charity founded in 1826, is a world-renowned centre of excellence for conservation science and applied conservation. ZSL’s mission is to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. This is realised by carrying out field conservation and research in over 50 countries across the globe and through education and awareness-raising at our two zoos, ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, inspiring people to take conservation action.
The HR Department has recently undergone a restructure to meet the growing needs of the business and is now seeking a senior HR Business Partner to assist the new HR Director developing the HR function. This role will work with the International Conservation Programmes Department and the Institute of Zoology management teams, in order to build a culture of continuous improvement and develop service delivery and quality standards both in the UK and Internationally.
The purpose of the role is to provide advice, support and guidance to managers on the full range of standard and complex casework and HR activities, with an emphasis on proactive intervention and development.
You must be CIPD qualified and have experience of leading on employee relations case work, restructures, policy development, pay reviews/job evaluations as well as consulting with trade union or employee representatives. Up to date knowledge of employment law is essential and an understanding of different employment and cultural practices in an international setting would be an advantage.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are a prerequisite for the job.
