Whipsnade Art Society 3D modelling
15 Aug 2013 – All Day
3D modelling day with Helen Vidler (15th August)
Helen Vidler (BAHons, MFA) is an aspiring professional artist who works in several different media including clay and multi-texture. Much of her work portrays animals and she sketches and models from life in the wild as well as at collections such as Whipsnade Zoo. Her work has been exhibited in galleries, museums and as part of the Bucks Open Studio event.
This summer holiday event is for everyone who would like to improve their 3D work, better their skills working with different modelling clays or have a go at modelling for the first time. Join Helen and a small group of other Whipsnade Art Society members for a day drawing inspiration from the zoo’s living collection.
Begin the day by practising techniques before moving out into the zoo and modelling some of the animals from life. There will be time during the day for you to draw inspiration from the animals which interest you most. The afternoon will be spent working on your finished piece, in the company of other participants and with Helen’s support.
Participants will need to bring some tools, many of which can be found in the average household. You will need an A5 sketch pad, pens and pencils for sketching and tools such as blunt dinner knives, tooth picks and other found items suitable for shaping clay.
As a special summer offer this workshop costs £50 per adult and £10 for 8-16s, who must be accompanied by a paying adult. Numbers are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
As a special offer to mark the launch of the Whipsnade Art Society, existing ZSL Members can register free for the Whipsnade Art Society in 2013.
