Elephantastic Weekend

21 - 22 Sep 2013 – 10:00 am - 5:30 pm

Asian Elephants

We're trumpeting all things Elephant with a mammoth celebration for Elephant Appreciation Weekend to help raise vital funds for elephant conservation and research projects.

Guaranteed to be a fun-filled educational day, visitors can join ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s herd of Asian elephants on their daily stroll around the hilltop site, watch them take their daily bath or be astounded by a special version of the amazing Elephantastic demonstration.

Visitors who make a donation on the day to elephant conservation and research projects can also have the chance to meet one of the Zoo’s elephants and have their picture taken with them.

There’ll be an action-packed programme of activities and entertainment from mask-making to chilli pot planting and music performances to conservation workshops.

Book Zoo tickets

All activities are on a first come first serve basis. Whilst we want as many people as possible to experience close up encounters with our majestic Asian elephants, their welfare and your safety is of the utmost importance to us and therefore our keepers reserve the right to withdraw the elephants from the event at any time and sessions will cease. We ask for your understanding should such an instance occur.

Elephantasia activities are included in Zoo entry cost, excluding activities mentioned above which require a donation. All funds go directly towards elephant conservation and research projects. ZSL members get Zoo entry free.
