With live demonstrations, a free land train called the Trunk Line and exhibits like ‘Cheetah Rock’ and ‘In with the lemurs’, the only trouble you will have is fitting everything into one day!

Once you have made a booking you will be sent a letter confirming the time and location of your education session. Please bring this with you on the day of your visit. In addition, please download our Zoo map and e-pack (11.8 MB).

Once a booking has been made one teacher per class will be automatically allocated free admission to plan their trip.

Please pay admission at the entrance on the day of the visit. Cheques should be made payable to 'Zoological Society of London'.

Children pre-16 yrs self guided
Post-16 yrs self guided
One adult is admitted free for every 10 secondary pupils or every 6 primary pupils. Any adults above this ratio are required to pay the admission price on arrival.
Teachers and accompanying adults are required to supervise children (those under 16 years of age) at all times. Noisy and unruly behaviour upsets the animals and other visitors.
£40 per session (1 – 35 pupils)
Volunteer-led tour (Whipsnade Zoo only - mid April to end of October)
£10 per school (1 – 35 pupils)

Zoo Merchandise for Schools
Like all zoos and wildlife parks, we have to operate under the auspices of the Zoo Licensing Act.
We are subject to an annual inspection by enforcing officers, who look at the way we take care of our animals and the safety of visitors and staff.
