Zoo Nights is set to be a scorcher

Sunday 20 June 2010

Excitement levels are on the rise at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo as the biggest event on the Zoo calendar is set to be a scorcher…it going to be a sizzling Zoo Nights.

Zoo Nights Sunset

On Friday 25 June, for one night only, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo will be opening its doors after hours for an evening of animal fun and spectacular entertainment.

With temperatures currently riding high, zookeepers and animals alike are gearing themselves up for what is set to be a glorious evening in the Zoo.

Whilst the tigers are chilling out in their private pool and the giraffes are relaxing in the shade, the keepers are coming up with new and imaginative ways to keep the animals cool, calm and ready for their late night.

Along with a host of animal displays and talks, fire dancers Flame Oz will be wowing visitors with their breathtaking visual display and the New Orleans jazz band, Jambalaya Dixie will be playing their foot tapping sounds.

Visitors at Zoo Nights will be able to keep themselves cool with a good soaking from our Californian sealions, who will be showing off their diving and jumping skills in the Sealion Splash demonstation.

Anyone who would rather avoid our waterbabies' waves can simply get a drink from the bar, or a burger from the BBQ, and sit back and relax whilst taking in the sights and sounds of ZSL Whipsnade Zoo after dark.

This event has now passed.
