The Cafe on the Lake here at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo has just been awarded a Silver Heartbeat Award for Health and Hygiene
The Heartbeat Award is only given to restaurants who maintain a high standard in food safety, hygiene and offer a good range of healthy eating choices.
The scheme has been launched by environmental health officers and dieticians across the county and is run by South Beds District Council.
Only four restaurants in the region received the award. They proved they offer healthier food choices, train staff in basic food hygiene, prepare food hygenically and have no-smoking eating areas.
