Whipsnade’s wonders are ready for Spring
Wednesday 16 February 2011
The wondrous wolverine and the terrific tigers are on the prowl this Spring at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, where visitors can take an epic adventure and explore the giants and the miniatures of the animal world in one big place.
Interactive talks around the zoo include penguin feeding time, a super-sized ostrich talk, a listen and learn chat at the Amur tigers and a lively talk about the ever-popular cheetah cubs. Find out about these creatures’ habitat, origins and struggle for survival in the wild.
There’s more indoor activities to keep the little ones busy in the Discovery Centre, where some of the world’s most amazing creatures can be seen close up – including the Saki monkeys, plated lizard, dwarf crocodiles and cockroaches.
Plus our re-furbished turtle ark is a must-see, to view the vital conservation work that goes on to help conserve these endangered creatures. When they’ve finished exploring, children can enjoy making indoor animal-themed crafts.
