Stars of the Show – Animals in Action

Summer is most definitely here and along with the sunshine and school holidays come a couple of real celebrities at both London and Whipsnade.
Animals in Action and Sealion Splash are entertainment packed daily demonstrations, where friends and family can see some of our key species up close and personal and learn more about the animal kingdom.
At London Zoo you can find Animals in Action taking place everyday in the amphitheatre and this summer you can say hello to George our green winged macaw from South America.
George is a real celebrity in his own right and loves to be out in front of the audience, working with our keepers to demonstrate how his species fly, move and live in the wild.
Over in the countryside, you can catch up with Barclay our Californian sealion who appears daily in the exclusive Sealion Splash at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park.
Barclay is hard to miss as he weighs in at a whopping 201kg, but he’s a gentle giant and loves to make a splash in front of the crowd as he shows off his aquatic skills and balancing prowess.
As well as being great value visitor entertainment, animal demonstrations at both London and Whipsnade offer our keepers an opportunity to educate our audience about some of the wonderful species at ZSL and encourage our animals to use natural behaviours as they would in the wild.
