Adult-only nights at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s Lookout Lodge take place from March to October and make the perfect present for animal lovers, or those simply wanting to escape everyday life.
Gift vouchers are on sale now for the experience which gives couples a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sleep in lodges nestled at the heart of the Zoo, surrounded by wild animals and spectacular scenery – look one way and you’ll see a herd of white rhinos, look the other and you’ll take in breathtaking views across the Chiltern Downs.
Led by one of the Zoo’s experienced hosts, Lookout Lodge begins with a welcoming glass of bubbly, followed by an evening tour of the Zoo where guests are introduced to some of Whipsnade’s 2,500 animals; a mouth-watering barbeque opposite the tiger enclosure; and a torch-lit walk back to the lodges to search the skies for bats and check out which animals are still awake.
Guests then have time to sit back and relax in their lodge, or on their veranda, to round off a truly magical evening before they retire for a well-deserved rest in their lodges, which come complete with all of the creature comforts needed to ensure a cosy stay.
The next day, after awakening to the sounds of the wild and enjoying a hot breakfast, guests enjoy an early morning tour of the Zoo to watch the animals waking up before everyone else arrives.
Whipsnade is a very special place during the day but it's even more magical at night, giving guests a unique insight into the Zoo and its incredible animals.
