Those looking for a ghoul-ishly good time this Halloween half term should head to ZSL Whipsnade Zoo for a day of fiendish fun at Boo at the Zoo.
Visitors to the Zoo during Boo at the Zoo in half term week will enjoy creepy crafts, eerie demonstrations and some seriously spooky ghost-tails (geddit?)…
The animals will also be getting in on the act, and enjoying some Halloween-inspired treats, including pumpkins stuffed with peanuts for the elephants, and bloody ice-cubes for the Zoo’s wolverines, at the Terrifying Talks taking place throughout the day.
As well as enjoying a half-term special Birds of the World demonstration, kids and adults alike will be fascinated to learn why ring-tail lemurs are known as the ghosts of Madagascar and find out all there is to know about the mysterious creatures of the night at the nocturnal touch-table in the Children’s Farm.
Those who want to face their fears, and investigate the underground world of the Zoo’s creepiest creatures, should pay a visit to the Zoo’s Discovery Centre - home to tarantulas, lizards, snakes and crocodiles, and keepers on hand to reveal frightening facts about them.
Younger visitors to the Zoo will be able to muck in with art activities and make their own bat mask, or help the keepers to fill pumpkins with scary treats for the otters in the Creepy Craft centre.
With a horrifying host of activities happening around the stunning 600-acre site, there’s plenty to keep the whole family entertained at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo.
