Animal facts

Unlike many species of crocodile, dwarf crocodiles do not spend long periods basking in the open. They are generally nocturnal and usually solitary, though if inadequate water or food is available they will tolerate living in close proximity to each other.

The West African dwarf crocodile is the most heavily armoured of all the crocodiles.
