The beasts are back!

ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is getting ready for the return of beasts from Britain's past that once crept through the forests and shady vales in years gone by.

Take yourself back to the time when such beasts as wolverine and lynx peeped out from dark woodlands and moose stalked the forests.

Brand new exhibit this Easter

In March, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo aims to take visitors back to those times with the help of four new species who are “taking back their territory”.

Wild Wild Whipsnade is a brand new quarter of a million exhibit which opens to the public at Easter for the first time.

A journey of discovery

Visitors will cross through wooded paths to see close-up new and exciting species - the mystical wolverine, the majestic moose, the beautiful lynx and the devilish wild boar.

Learn about these beasts, understand their origins, how they lived and survived and how time has slowly made them into giants of the past, with only few remaining today.

With interactive learning activities, special talks and photo opportunities you’ll be transported back to Old England to encounter these notorious creatures as well as our other “beasts” – the bears, European bison, wolf and reindeer.

Use a snoat-nosed spade to snuffle like a wild boar for food, marvel at the large cave painting and moose rock carvings before looking for signs of life through the telescope into the lynx lair.

Wild Wild Whipsnade allows you to escape to nature and be confronted with some of weirdest, wildest and wondrous beasts on earth.
