Café on the Lake
While visitors enjoy the great lake view with zebra and ostrich feeding on the grasslands behind they can feast on home-made foods, including plate served hot meals and a range of snacks. There will be a total of 350 seats. 250 of these will be outside with 150 under a rustic styled roof. | ||
Rhinos of Nepal - Now open
The new indoor housing includes three heated pools for the Rhinos who like to spend a great deal of their time in the water. Visitors have the chance to view the Rhino in their baths as well as being able to spot them in their paddock from a watch tower. The tower is modelled on those used in Asia to look out for Rhino in the wild. Buddhist prayer flags and colourful murals will complete this Asian experience. With strong significance for the predominant Hindu and Buddhist local religions, the rhinos are an icon in Nepal. The exhibit demonstrates the strong links between ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and our Rhino conservation programme in Nepal. |
