- Lions have a really good sense of smell. This means they can not only hear they food coming but they can smell it as well.
- Lions have another unique feature - their tail! They are the only cat to have a tuft on the end of their tail.
- A male lion’s mighty roar can be heard for up to five miles away.
- A male lion can grow to over a metre high just at the shoulder and can weigh up to 225kg (36stone) which is about the same weight as nine children.
- An adult lion can eat up to 40kg (six stone) of food all in one go - that’s about 350 quarter pounder hamburgers!
