The accolade was awarded to the Zoo for the improved husbandry, enclosure design and behavioural enrichment of the grey slender loris.

2012 saw the slender loris group grow significantly in size with two sets of twins born in the first half of the year, a rare occurrence for the nocturnal creatures who usually only give birth to single offspring.

Special Children’s Day, a weekend of special activities and events for children with special needs and their families at ZSL London Zoo, won the ‘Best Education Project’ in the awards.
