ZSL London Zoo is putting its money where its mouth is by ‘hailing’ the capital’s chattiest citizens to experience the Zoo on the house.

Recognising the important part that cabbies play in the city’s tourist trade, the Zoo is asking London taxi drivers to extend their knowledge to the animal kingdom.
Between May 9th and May 12th, cab drivers and their families will have free entry to ZSL London Zoo – taking a break from the hustle and bustle of London’s busy roads.
Head of Communications Simon Rayner said: “Cab drivers in London are some of the friendliest, chattiest people you can meet and they will often be the first face that tourists see when they arrive in the capital.” “As one of London’s biggest tourist attractions, we want to take advantage of cabbies talkative nature and let them experience a great family day out that’s worth talking about to their many cab passengers.”
Last year more than 1500 cabbies and their families got up close and personal to the wonderful animals at ZSL London Zoo.
The offer also extends to London’s concierge workforce, who are invited to stop worrying about their guests and be someone else’s guest for a change.
The Zoo hopes to build on the success of last year, encouraging even more cabbies and concierges to bring along their families, present their licences or business cards at the gate and enjoy the brilliant exhibits this summer.
Visitors can take a flight to the Zoo’s brand new Blackburn Pavilion and stroll through the tropical birdhouse, enjoying the sights and sounds of the forest sky and be taken astonishingly close to the free-flying exotic birds including toucans and lovebirds.
Swing in to the African rainforest habitat of the Western Lowland Gorillas in Gorilla Kingdom, where you can see our gorillas Bobby, Effie, Zaire and Mjukuu enjoying the forest surrounds of their kingdom.
With more than 650 species of animal in 36 acres of green space, ZSL London Zoo is one of the greenest days out London has to offer.
