Spring has arrived!

Spring has sprung at ZSL London Zoo today. As we’re all enjoying the milder temperatures, the western lowland gorillas at the Zoo are taking pleasure in some tasty treasures.
It may not seem like the obvious choice of tipple for a gorilla, but Kesho, Effie and Zaire favour nothing more than a bottle of delicious fruit tea.
Zoo Keeper Tracey Lee explains: “The gorillas like to use their hands and really treasure carrying around a bottle of squash, preferring blackcurrant flavour above others.”
Keepers put the sugar-free squash into empty plastic bottles so the gorillas can take a swig whenever they feel thirsty. What’s more, they also have a penchant for cherry and cinnamon tea – yummy!
It seems the great British tradition of tea drinking has arrived at Gorilla Kingdom just in time for the Queen’s Jubilee.
