A rare marbled cat has been photographed by one of our automatic cameras in Sumatra's Dangku Nature Reserve.

This photo of a marbled cat, pictured strolling through South Sumatra's Dangku Nature Reserve at 9:18am, was taken by one of ZSL's automatic cameras. This is the first picture of a marbled cat taken in the five years the project has been running and one of only a handful ever taken in Indonesia. Marbled cats are rarely seen in the wild and almost never photographed. Working with the Indonesian forestry department and with WCS Indonesia, ZSL is surveying various protected and non-protected areas in the region. The aim is to establish current wildlife status in order to help in prioritising conservation action.
