A p-p-pair of penguin chicks born at ZSL London Zoo

Monday 6 September 2010

If it’s good enough for David Cameron it’s good enough for the bird keepers at ZSL London Zoo.

Penguin Babies

After the Prime Minister named his daughter after the Cornish town ‘Endellion’ bird keepers at ZSL London Zoo have decided to do the same; naming their two week old penguin chicks Regents and Primrose.

The two African black footed penguin chicks, born to the same parents, are named after Regent's Park and Primrose Hill where the Zoo is based.

Primrose the biggest chick was born on the 18 August followed by Regents the smaller chick was born on 21 August.

The chicks are being fed regularly by keeper Kelly-Anne Kelleher who feds them liquid fish three times at 8.30am, 1.00pm and 5.30pm.

In ten weeks time the black and white pair will be integrated back into the group.
