This is the second time the Zoo, which is open everyday apart from Christmas Day, has hit one million visitors in nine years.
An excited three year-old Bader Alnoimi and his nanny Amanda Denton, 30, ventured into the Zoo’s tropical Clore Rainforest where they were met by some hungry golden-headed lion tamarins.
Amanda, from Winchester, said: 'It was a great experience and Bader wasn’t fazed by it at all - he really enjoyed meeting the cheeky monkeys!'
