Its official - monkeys can do A-levels… and it looks like it would be A grades all round for ZSL London Zoo’s bright Bolivian squirrel monkeys.

After a survey of sixth-form teachers, in which the annual debate about slipping exam standards continued, one director of A-levels was reported to have told researchers: "You could train a monkey to do the questions today."
Zookeepers gave the inquisitive primates an A-level revision guide with their breakfast this morning after reading the comments that “even monkeys" can get these end of school awards.

Keeper Tony Cholerton said: “They enjoyed investigating the book but they were more interested in their food.”
He added: “They are certainly very clever – they would definitely get an A* for mischief!”
