The birds and the bees at ZSL London Zoo!

Tuesday 28 March 2006

'Birds do it, bees do it and even educated fleas do it...' and at ZSL London Zoo you can learn how tigers, frogs, fish and kangaroos do it too!

With spring in the air, our animals are getting frisky and parents are getting red-faced, awkwardly explaining what the cheeky monkeys are up to…

To save their blushes, ZSL London Zoo is launching a Birds & Bees initiative to spark fun and informative family discussions about sex.

Visitor research shows that sex is an issue frequently discussed by families during their visits to the Zoo.

Available from the Information kiosk and on our website, our Birds & Bees leaflet allows families to learn the facts of life in the animal kingdom, covering topics ranging from courtship and mating to birth and parenting, in a fascinating and unique environment.

Focusing on some of our most intriguing species, including Jackass penguins, Banggai cardinal fish and gidgee skinks, Birds & Bees provides the perfect opportunity not only to educate your kids about animal reproduction, but to broach the tricky subject of human reproduction too.
