To celebrate the launch of Gorilla Kingdom at ZSL London Zoo this year, zookeepers have helped to develop a unique virtual gorilla so budding zookeepers can look after their own ape at home.
The new interactive Desktop Gorilla will be launched by ZSL on July 16th 2007, giving wannabe zoo keepers the chance to practice caring for a zoo animal of their own.
Developers have worked closely with keepers at ZSL London Zoo to recreate the behaviours and feeding pattern of real gorillas.
Players must feed them, keep them entertained, put them to sleep and clean up their poo to gain the highest score.
The virtual gorillas come with a serious message too; a series of cheat codes will be hidden around the ZSL website so players are directed to read about animal conservation work going on in Britain and overseas.
