Animals enjoy festive treats at ZSL London Zoo

Squirrel Monkeys With Christmas Stocking

The animals at ZSL London Zoo are enjoying a wild Christmas this year, with some very merry treats including Christmas stockings and presents filled with favourite foods.

Zookeeper Paul Kybett said: “The animals absolutely loved their Christmas gifts – they’ve all been very good this year so they deserve lots of treats!

“Giving the animals gifts like stuffed stockings and presents are a great way of keeping them stimulated and encouraging them to be inquisitive.”

Christmas Stocking And Squirrel Monkey
The Zoo's 23 squirrel monkeys delved into Christmas stockings – which their keepers have stuffed with their favourite snacks.

Penguin and Christmas tree
The inhabitants of Penguin Beach found festive fishy treats under their tree this year.

Lion Cubs With Christmas Presents
Lion cubs Heidi and Indi have definitely made it on to Santa’s ‘good’ list with colourfully wrapped presents filled with meat.

Visitors to ZSL London Zoo this Christmas can check in on Santa’s herd of reindeer, whilst kids will be able to lend a hand at the daily ‘Keeper’s Little Helpers’ sessions, preparing treats and presents for the animals, including stuffing stockings for the meerkats and otters.

With loads more to do including carousel rides, keeper talks and animal demonstrations, the whole family will be able to enjoy the fun festivities on offer at ZSL London Zoo.
